Chronicles of a Vagabond roughly follows several moments of my life over the last decade or so. It uses imagery that captures moments of emotion and vivid scenery to express the wandering that we all sense in one season or another. At the end of the day, this earth is not our eternal home, and we are simply passing through vagabonds in this life.

It is a Folk-centric album exploring concepts of belonging, purpose, desires, dreams, regrets, hurts, and surrender. Ultimately, we all long to have a home, and I think many, if not all, of us long to find peace. The opening of the album starts with a sense of stagnation and discontentedness then moves through the many moments and scenes of travel, wandering, and searching. From there we find the regrets for some of the choices made in times of aimlessness and even defiance. Finally, coming to surrender, and finding peace in the aftermath.

So far, I have completed the studio work for two of the songs: Bags (released in 2022) and Wolves (coming in 2024). There are about 14 other songs that are a part of this work (if all of them make the cut as I hope they will). The biggest prohibitor is funding to work with skilled musicians and studio engineers. I've almost always supported all my own funding with the teaching and other work I do. Even so, someone told me I ought to let others know what's happening and how they can partner if they would like to!

The Boarders collection is a series of albums intended to be something like a storybook. These albums will allegorically express the journey of an individual from living life for their own goals and purpose to a crux moment of meeting Christ and discovering there is a purpose more deeply significant and exponentially farther reaching than their own life and pursuit of happiness.

The setting is in a medieval sort of world, and each album follows a primary character through their journey. In the same way that many of us lead impressively different lives, the perspective of each character will be varied. Some faithful from start to finish with moments of questioning and doubt, others going from enemy to ally, and still others from a position of ignorance to a kindled passion for change.

As of yet, the Walls and Wastelands album is the first and farthest along in the writing process. The subsequent albums are in progress, slowly but surely. Though, to some degree, their stories depend on the progress of this first one.

The Sound of Faith is a concept album that emerged from my relocation to Alaska in 2022 and the events/struggles that followed. It is the most openly God-fearing work I have ever considered producing. In fact, the songs speak so openly about God and speak directly to him using the many names found through The Word that I have considered producing this work under a pseudonym. When it comes time to publish, I still may publish under a separate name (one that I believe God had placed over me some time ago).

The work varies in style sounding more like a mixtape of moments and emotions. Some songs are stylistically contemporary worship, others are folk, while others feel rather tribal or gypsy-like, and still others are vaguely experimental. Even so, all the lyrics deal with struggles of faith, belief, trusting in the face of impossible circumstances, longing for nearness to the Father, and choosing a life of sacrificial living to see the will of God accomplished in this world.
